Seriously. Ya can't make this up----Feds to discuss rescue for endangered butterflies in Oakland County...like right next to Detroit.....

Feds to discuss rescue for endangered butterflies in Oakland County | The Detroit News:
"Federal officials are hosting a public meeting in Oakland County this week to discuss placing two butterfly species on the endangered list.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to protect the Dakota skipper and the Poweshiek skipperling.
The Poweshiek skipperling previously was found in Michigan and seven other states, as well as Canada.
It now inhabits only a few native prairie remnants in Wisconsin and Michigan, and in the Canadian province of Manitoba.
Surveys indicate that Poweshiek skipperlings are gone from nearly 90 percent of the sites where they once were found.
The Dakota skipper is found in Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Canada.
Both species are threatened by habitat loss."
