They fire the CEO. And declare Detroit has "higher operating costs". Hmmmmm----- Red Cross to close Detroit blood lab

Red Cross to close Detroit blood lab | Crain's Detroit Business:
"The American Red Cross plans to shutter its national blood testing lab in Detroit on Feb. 3, amid a national trend of declining demand for blood.
The closure of the lab and concurrent management restructuring will eliminate 118 local jobs.
As part of the move, CEO Diane Ward will leave the organization....
The Detroit blood testing lab, one of five the nonprofit operates across the country, had higher operating costs than those in St. Louis; Philadelphia; Portland, Ore., and Charlotte, N.C., said communications manager Tracy Fox."
