People Mover shuts down

The Detroit People Mover has been shut down today because of the sub-zero temperatures and wind chill.
"The operations are suspended until further notice and are being monitored as weather conditions improve," said Ericka Alexander, via email. She's the marketing specialist for the Detroit Transportation Co., which operates the system as a public corporate body rather than a city department.
The 2.9-mile, 13-stop, elevated single-track loop opened in 1987 at a cost of $200 million.
Its fleet of 12 automated, driverless vehicles are operated remotely by computer.
A single loop takes 15 minutes.
