So here are five things Michiganders can expect — and more important, not expect — to see happen in nine session days in September and three in October.

Road improvements

The Legislature may nibble around the edges of funding for desperately needed road improvements, estimated to cost between $1 billion and $2 billion a year for the next 10 years. The Senate could take up bills that deal with things such as warranties on road projects and fines and fees for overweight trucks that have already passed the House. But a comprehensive solution, which requires some sort of revenue increase, is unlikely before November.
A bipartisan Senate work group has been meeting on the issue but has have not reached a consensus, McCann said.
