Video: U.S. Navy christens USS Detroit

Video: U.S. Navy christens USS Detroit | Crain's Detroit Business:
"The U.S. Navy christened the warship USS Detroit on Saturday, and on Tuesday the Navy showed on this video what only those on hand in Marinette, Wisc., saw live.
In an "All Hands Update," Petty Officer Andrew Johnson said the Detroit is the newest littoral combat ship, or LCS.
"The ship is designed to operate in shallow water environments to counter challenging threats in coastal regions," Johnson said in the video.
"As a fast, agile and technologically advanced surface combatant, Detroit will launch and recover manned and unmanned vehicles."
It is the seventh ship to bear the Detroit name."
