The Crown Victoria cruisers are about 10 years old, and showing some signs of wear and tear, the AP reports.
DPD has been getting a fleet of all-new police cars, thanks to corporate donations from companies such as Penske.
Roger Penske and his partners donated nearly $8 million for 23 new ambulances and police cars to supplement the aging fleets.
Other contributing partners include: Ford Motor Co., Chrysler Group LLC, Quicken Loans Inc., the Kresge Foundation, General Motors Co., Platinum Equity LLC, FirstMerit Bank and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan."
