Bolton: Russia's Fault Turkey Shot Down Its Jet Near Syrian Border | Fox News Insider:

Fox News Contributor John Bolton said responsibility lies with Russia over the downing of its fighter by Turkish F-16's near the Syrian border.
The former Ambassador to the U.N. said Russia "shouldn't be in this region at all."
"They undertook the risk of adventurism by putting an air base in at Latakia. This kind of incident in the air was entirely predictable, the only surprise is it hasn't happened before this."
Bolton said it was significant that there was a Russian overflight into NATO airspace.
He said that President Obama should tell Russian President Vladimir Putin, "in the most diplomatic terms we can find ... 'back off.'"
Tuesday's incident is the first time since the 1950s that a Russian or Soviet military aircraft has been publicly acknowledged to have been shot down by a NATO country, according to Reuters.
A U.S. defense official told Fox News that radar tracks validate Turkey’s claims that the aircraft entered its airspace and refused to leave, despite repeated warnings.
Putin warned that the incident was "a stab in the back" and would have "significant consequences" for its relations with Turkey and criticized Ankara for turning to NATO to discuss the incident instead of first explaining to Russia what happened.
