Here’s the first thing we must do: Root her in truth.

—The truth that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with unalienable rights.

—The truth that these rights are automatically theirs and don’t require the government’s permission or input, and the government can never take them away.

—The truth that governments are instituted among men to protect those rights, and when the government doesn’t do that, it is the people’s right and their duty to change or abolish it.

That is the change we seek. That is what the Republican Party must stand for."
