"A Hillary Clinton supporter is apparently still sore over the election results, and police say he hit an elderly woman over the head with a chair during an argument about it.
matthew-pughDonora, Pennsylvania police say 27-year-old Matthew Pugh was having an “election argument” with a fellow resident of the Donora Towers high-rise apartment complex when he “reportedly became enraged,” the Observer-Reporter reports.
“He allegedly picked up a chair and hit the woman over the head, knocking her to the floor,” according to the paper.
The chair gashed the woman on the head and she “bled severely.” She suffered other injuries during the fall and was taken to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.
According to police, Pugh left the scene, but was apprehended a short time later.
Donora police say Pugh is a Hillary Clinton supporter and was triggered when “the woman apparently made a comment either against Clinton or in support of Trump,” Donora police Officer Keith Charlton tells the paper.
The Herald Standard newspaper identifies the victim as 69-year-old Maureen Zubrick.
“Both Zubrick and Pugh took a side on the recent presidential election,” Charlton wrote in an affidavit..."
