Officials with Muskegon Heights who were retabulating votes Wednesday arrived at 8:30 a.m. and still were far from finished by late afternoon, Grimm said.
“It’s a long process,” she said.
Also retabulating results are Whitehall Township, White River Township, Laketon Township, Muskegon Township and the city of Muskegon, Grimm said. In Laketon Township, for example, ballots were retabulated because there was one more ballot than the number of voters, she said.
“It’s not a perfect system, but it’s the one we have,” Grimm said.
