"LANSING — The Michigan Strategic Fund is under fire from both Republicans and Democrats after an audit report found it gave the Legislature incomplete and overstated data on jobs created from business incentive programs.
A report released Tuesday by Michigan's Auditor General found that the MSF, part of the taxpayer-supported Michigan Economic Development Corp., hasn't been verifying that certain grant recipients are meeting program requirements or creating the jobs they promised.
Those "oversights" led to overstated jobs figures in its annual Legislative report."
