"This snub comes ahead of Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned trip to Washington next week to address Congress and the annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the nation’s leading pro-Israeli lobby. The rift has become so deep that Obama Administration officials are actively seeking ways to undermine the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit. Obama will not be meeting with Netanyahu, and neither will Vice President Joe Biden or Secretary of State John Kerry, both of whom have sudden trips scheduled; Biden to Uruguay and Guatemala, and Kerry to an as yet undisclosed location. Even Cabinet members are being dispatched out of the country ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit."
