VA Officials Still Employed After Being Accused of Stealing More Than $400K

VA Officials Still Employed After Being Accused of Stealing More Than $400K | Fox News Insider:
The Department of Veterans Affairs is under fire after two senior officials accused of fraud were demoted but not fired.
Diana Rubens and Kimberly Graves have both been demoted from regional directors to assistant directors after they allegedly manipulated the agency’s hiring system, “Fox and Friends” reported this morning.

The two are accused of stealing more than $400,000 from taxpayers.
In addition, they are said to have forced regional managers at more junior levels to accept job transfers, then snatching up those positions for themselves.
Despite the lower pay grade, Rubens and Graves then kept their salaries of $181,497 and $173,949 respectively, according to the Associated Press.
Veteran advocates say this is unacceptable, and are demanding the two be fired.
Both Rubens and Graves refused to testify in Congress earlier this month, saying they had a Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate themselves.
