Illegals Who Receive Obama’s Amnesty Can Claim Over $35K in First Year

Illegals Who Receive Obama’s Amnesty Can Claim Over $35K in First Year:

"A new Congressional Research Service memo indicates that illegal immigrants who are able to obtain Social Security Numbers and work permits as a result of President Obama’s executive amnesty could claim $35,521 per family with three children.  And this is just the first year alone."

This is beyond insanity!  The regime knows exactly what it's doing.  The executive and his social/communist cronies are doing everything they can to destroy the United States.  They are overloading the system.  This is what Cloward and Piven taught.  This is what Obama studied and has been implementing.

Wayne LaPierre: “Universal Background Checks” Mean Gun Registration, Gun Bans and Confiscation

Wayne LaPierre: “Universal Background Checks” Mean Gun Registration, Gun Bans and Confiscation | The Daily Caller:
"Only in the Orwellian world of double-speak employed by President Barack Obama and billionaire elitist Michael Bloomberg would nonsense be hailed as “common sense.”
Take gun registration masquerading as “universal background checks”—their latest mantra that mandates the recording of data on lawful gun transfers.
This scheme focuses only on peaceable citizens, not violent criminals who are already prohibited under federal and state laws from even touching, much less purchasing, any firearm.
Facts tell us that criminalizing private transfers of firearms among family members and friends under a universal background check system would do nothing to prevent “gun violence,” and importantly, would not have prevented the profound tragedies that gun banners use to promote such a system. Perpetrators of those acts either successfully passed background checks to get the guns or they stole the guns.
What’s more, gun transfers universally requiring approval by the government cannot be enforced without mandatory gun registration, as Obama’s Justice Department has already admitted. At some point, the government has to argue,
“Without registration, we won’t know who had the gun in the first place.”
Whether the initial proposal includes a government registry of firearm transfers or firearm owners, that’s the end game."

Public unions banned from representing non-dues-paying employees in Rep. Gary Glenn's proposal

Public unions banned from representing non-dues-paying employees in Rep. Gary Glenn's proposal | MLive.com:
LANSING, MI -- State Rep. Gary Glenn, R-Midland, says it's time Michigan gets "back on the national scoreboard" with Right to Work legislation.
Glenn, a first-year lawmaker who represents part of Midland and Bay counties, is drafting two bills that seek to do that.
The first bill would extend Right to Work provisions to public safety personnel, the only group exempted in the 2012 Michigan law that bans a requirement that employees pay union dues as a condition of employment.
The other bill, which would impact even more workers statewide, would ban all public sector unions from representing anyone who is not a dues-paying member of that union.
"It would amend state law for government employee unions and would say that government employee unions can represent only employees who voluntarily join and pay dues," Glenn said.
He said the bill would impact anyone employed in the public sector, including public school teachers and all state, county and city employees.
Glenn predicts many union officials will oppose the bill because it threatens the labor groups' power and authority...

School evicts voluntary Bible club after anti-Christian group complains

School evicts voluntary Bible club after anti-Christian group complains - EAGnews.org: "HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – A Michigan anti-religion group is all cheers after it successfully pressured a local school district into evicting a church-run RV Bible study mobile from an elementary school parking lot.
The Michigan Association of Civil Rights Activists – a group that strives to eradicate any reference to religion in public life – successfully forced the Hudsonville School District to ban a camper that parked at Hudsonville South Elementary School to teach students about the bible during lunch and recess, WZZM 13 reports.
MACRA contends a concerned parent contacted the group about the camper run by Bible Club Ministries before MACRA staffers took pictures of the camper, as well as a flyer inside the school, and called to confront school officials...

New Bill Gives the Attorney General the Power to Block Gun Sales to ‘Suspected’ Terrorists

New Bill Gives the Attorney General the Power to Block Gun Sales to ‘Suspected’ Terrorists | TheBlaze.com:
"One example of how that authority could be abused was revealed last week, when it was reported that the Department of Homeland Security had produced an intelligence assessment that focuses on terrorist attacks from right-wing groups interested in defending themselves from the federal government.
That led to more criticism that the Obama administration is not worried enough about radical Islamic terrorist threats, and is overly worried about right-wing groups."

'If It's Not Illegal, It Should Be' [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"...“sweetheart” deal between the Lansing School District and the president of the state’s largest teachers union.
The district has for several years allowed Michigan Education Association President Steve Cook to be considered a “school employee.”
This lets Cook remain a member of the public school pension system, despite the fact that he actually works full time for a private organization.
Moreover, Cook is accruing pension benefits based on his $201,613 union salary, setting him up for a much higher post-retirement payout from the underfunded system. This is commonly known as “pension spiking.”
“It’s absolutely inappropriate,” said Jones. “It should not be happening.”
Jones said the public school employee retirement system is supposed to be “for actual school employees and not people listed as school employees who are actually MEA employees.
It makes absolutely no sense at all.
It’s just plain wrong.
And it needs to be stopped.”
Michigan Capitol Confidential reported Cook's apparent pension spiking deal with the Lansing School District on Thursday.
The complete ramifications of the deal are not clear because the MEA has not responded to questions, and the Lansing School District has refused to provide details, after first answering some basic questions."

The FBI and Domestic ISIS Arrest: Keeping Fear Alive as a Government Mission

The FBI and Domestic ISIS Arrest: Keeping Fear Alive as a Government Mission - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
Glenn Greenwald at The Intercept has some perspective worth keeping in mind regarding this week's spincter-tightening announcement of Domestic ISIS! Right here in New York City!
As my colleague Murtaza Hussain ably documents“it appears that none of the three men was in any condition to travel or support the Islamic State, without help from the FBI informant.” One of the frightening terrorist villains told the FBI informant that, beyond having no money, he had encountered a significant problem in following through on the FBI’s plot: his mom had taken away his passport. Noting the bizarre and unhinged ranting of one of the suspects, Hussain noted on Twitter that this case “sounds like another victory for the FBI over the mentally ill.”
Greenwald notes with some case studies (see some clips by me at the end of the post on the same theme) that so many of the FBI's victories over terror involve their own nudging otherwise harmless people along to do or say things they can be arrested for—what Greenwald summarizes, in this week's domestic ISIS case and others, as giving us cause to "thank the brave men and women of the FBI for saving us from their own terror plots." resulting in "sending young people to prison for decades for “crimes” which even their sentencing judges acknowledge they never would have seriously considered, let alone committed, in the absence of FBI trickery."
Greenwald asks a question I've been asking since at least 2006 about the domestic terror threat:
how serious of a threat can all of this be, at least domestically, if the FBI continually has to resort to manufacturing its own plots by trolling the Internet in search of young drifters and/or the mentally ill whom they target, recruit and then manipulate into joining? Does that not, by itself, demonstrate how over-hyped and insubstantial this “threat” actually is? Shouldn’t there be actual plots, ones that are created and fueled without the help of the FBI, that the agency should devote its massive resources to stopping?

Crazy Laws: Don't Seduce An Unmarried Woman or Dance to the National Anthem In Michigan

Crazy Laws: Don't Seduce An Unmarried Woman or Dance to the National Anthem In Michigan [Michigan Capitol Confidential]:
"A man seducing and corrupting the moral purity of an unmarried woman is a felony with possible prison time.
Throwing a few bucks into the office college basketball tournament pool is illegal gambling.
And playing the national anthem for people to dance to is a misdemeanor.
Though routinely broken and ignored by citizens and government officials, these laws and more are on the books in Michigan.
In fact, there are so many statutes in the state code that it is likely every resident would be considered a criminal if the codes actually were prosecuted.
State and federal laws are being added so quickly that the average citizen commits three felonies per day and cannot possibly figure them all out, said attorney Harvey Silverglate.
...“An excess of laws is very bad for society,” Silverglate said. “It saps the vitality of a state or nation for citizens to have to spend so much time figuring out if they may or may not take a certain action — with a misjudgment at their peril.”"

3 Charts That Show The FCC is Full of Malarkey on Net Neutrality and Title II

3 Charts That Show The FCC is Full of Malarkey on Net Neutrality and Title II - Hit & Run : Reason.com:

FCC
But it turns out, at least according to the FCC—the very agency that now says it needs to regulate the Internet like a public utility in order to ensure a free and open Internet—that the idea of monopoly ISPs is false.

According to this FCC chart, 80 percent of households in America have at least two fixed and/or mobile providers that offer "at least 10 Mbps downstream speeds," which until recently was far above what the agency concerned high-speed broadband. In 2010, the FCC defined as service that offered a 4Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream. Just a few weeks ago, it arbitrarily upped its definition to be 25Mbps downstream and 3Mbps upstream. (Net oldtimers will remember the old days of 56k modems and the like.) At the end of 2012, says the FCC, fully 96 percent of households had two or more providers offering 6Mbps downstream and 1.5Mbps upstream service. That may not give you all the bandwidth you want at any given moment, but it also presents a picture different than the monopoly situation that many Net Neutrality proponents rail against. (If you're curious about options in your area, check out the National Broadband Map.)

"The report comes following the Internal Revenue Service’s confirmation that once illegal immigrants are granted Social Security Numbers -- as a result of Obama’s executive actions -- they will be able to file back tax returns and obtain up to four years of tax benefits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC)."

So we're gonna have some retroactive tax benefits as well.  We're going to give them Social Security numbers and all the rest of it, work permits, as part of executive amnesty, and then we're gonna say, "We should have given it to you four years ago.  Our bad.  You have been mistreated.  So since we should have done this for you four years ago, we're gonna let you refile your tax returns from four years ago."  This is going to result in many of the people we're talking about being given tax refund benefits totaling $35,000."

The Net Neutrality Scam

Mises Daily | Mises Institute: "
Yet again, the government wants to fix a problem that doesn’t exist. According to the Obama administration and the FCC, it is necessary to regulate internet service providers so that they don’t interfere with people’s access to the web. The claim immediately prompts one to ask: Who is being denied access to the web?
In the past twenty years, access to the internet has only become more widespread and service today is far faster for many people — including “ordinary” people — than it was twenty years ago, or even ten years ago. Today, broadband in Europe, where the internet is more tightly regulated, has less reach than it has in the United States.
The administration’s plan is rather innocuously called “net neutrality,” but in fact it has nothing at all to do with neutrality and is just a scheme to vastly increase the federal government’s control over the internet.

What is Net Neutrality?

We don’t know the details of the plan because the FCC refuses to let the taxpayers see the 300-page proposal before the FCC votes on it today. But, we do know a few things.
Currently, ISPs are regulated by the FCC, but as an “information service” under the less restrictive rules of so-called Title I. But now, the FCC wants to regulate ISPs as utilities under the far more restrictive Title II restrictions. For a clue as to how cutting edge this idea is, remember this switch to Title II regulation would put ISPs into the same regulatory regime as Ma Bell under the Communications Act of 1934.
So what does this mean for the FCC in practice? According to FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, “It gives the FCC the power to micromanage virtually every aspect of how the Internet works.” More specifically, Gordon Crovitz at the Wall Street Journal writes:
[With Net Netruality,] bureaucrats can review the fairness of Google’s search results, Facebook’s news feeds and news sites’ links to one another and to advertisers. BlackBerry is already lobbying the FCC to force Apple and Netflix to offer apps for BlackBerry’s unpopular phones. Bureaucrats will oversee peering, content-delivery networks and other parts of the interconnected network that enables everything from Netflix and YouTube to security drones and online surgery.
The administration insists these measures are necessary because — even though there is no evidence that this has actually happened — it is possible that at some point in the future, internet service providers could restrict some content and apps on the internet. Thus, we are told, control of content should be handed over to the federal government to ensure that internet service providers are “neutral” when it comes to deciding what is on the internet and what is not.

Can Goods Be Allocated in a “Neutral” Way?

The problem is that there is no such thing as “neutral” allocation of resources, whether done by government or the marketplace.
...As economist Douglass North noted, regulatory regimes do not improve efficiency, but serve the interests of those with political power:
Institutions are not necessarily or even usually created to be socially efficient; rather they, or at least the formal rules, are created to serve the interests of those with the bargaining power to create new rules.
So, if populists think net neutrality will somehow give “the people” greater voice in how bandwidth is allocated and ISPs function, they should think again.

“Military gear and military interrogation tactics are leaving the battlefield, hear me America, and are now being unleashed on American citizens,” Beck said on his television program. “How long before suspects are going to get waterboarded? Gosh this sounds crazy! It is hard to fathom that a facility such as Homan Square even exists. But what is harder to fathom is that we as a society are not outraged by any of it.”

The Guardian this week revealed the location of a secret interrogation facility in Chicago’s Homan Square where suspects are illegally “disappeared.” They are reportedly kept off official databases and denied access to legal representation for 12 to 24 hours while undergoing beatings and other interrogation techniques. One suspect was only 15 years old, and another was reportedly pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in an interrogation room.

“The militarization of the American police continues to march on, and this one is a huge milestone,” Beck said. “This is an unprecedented assault on individual liberty. All Americans can and must stand up. But it seems like all we can do is say, ‘Eh."

What could possibly go wrong?!!------New parking system to roll out in Detroit

New parking system to roll out in Detroit | Crain's Detroit Business

6. The entire system is expected to be rolled out by June. So the change, whatever it is, is coming fast.
7. Brown told the DDP meeting that the new system will reduce the number of city employees dealing with parking violations from 50 to five. But, he said, no layoffs are coming; instead the 45 employees would be sent to other departments.
8. Finally, Brown said he hopes to reintroduce a reduced parking fine for those who pay within a certain period of time. Before former Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr jacked up parking tickets to $45 last February, most came with a $20 tab or $10 if you paid them within 10 days.
Many small business owners in Detroit complain about the broken meters surrounding them and say specter of a $45 ticket prevents people from shopping in their businesses. Technically, you can be ticketed for parking at a broken meter. But because it’s broken and in some cases every meter on the block is broken you can’t pay. So as a patron you are forced to choose between supporting a local business and taking a $45 ticket. That’s an economic choice nobody wants to make.
More details to come as the city rolls them out.

Environmental Extremism Imperils Nation’s Freedom and Prosperity

Environmental Extremism Imperils Nation’s Freedom and Prosperity | Heartlander Magazine:
"Our American constitutional republic is in peril.
Having protected our God-given individual freedoms and our culture of free entrepreneurship that created the greatest economic miracle the world has ever known, these freedoms and this culture are now being markedly diminished by those who want to turn our country away from the principles of our Constitution and Bill of Rights and replace these principles with ubiquitous government control of literally every aspect of our lives.
This attack on our freedoms is being implemented in our local, state, and federal governments by unprincipled politicians and the bureaucracies they create.
There is literally no aspect of our civilization that these miscreants are not moving to control and diminish.
One especially important aspect is our access to energy resources and our freedom to build energy industries to maintain and increase the quality, quantity, and length of human life."

A Really Bad Week For The Supplements Industry

A Really Bad Week For The Supplements Industry
If the ingredients in your pills don’t really work, does it matter if they’re correct?
Well, yes.

Even if that echinacea pill doesn’t cure the common cold, if a supplement manufacturer sells you an echinacea pill, they have to put echinacea in it.
Supplement makers can and do make all kinds of claims about the health benefits of the stuff they’re selling you.

They claim that supplements can “boost your immune system,” relieve aches and pains, improve memory, and promote “wellness,” whatever the heck that means.

Most this is nonsense, but thanks to the manufacturers’ special friend in the U.S. Senate, Senator Orrin Hatch, the federal government has almost no power to regulate these claims.

Over the years, the supplement companies have been very generous to Senator Hatch, and he has returned the favor by defending them (though of course he denies any quid pro quo).

Even supplement makers have limits: they can’t sell you ground-up house plants, or rice powder, claiming that it’s St. Johns Wort.

But as New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman revealed last week, that’s exactly what some of them have been doing.

Amazingly, 79% of the supplements tested did not contain the primary ingredient listed on the label. Many of them contained other plant material, including plants that might cause an allergic reaction in unsuspecting customers. [*Update 17 Feb: GNC has responded to the AG; see the bottom of this article for more.]

You see, as cheap as most supplements are (compared to real medicine, that is), rice powder is even cheaper.
Attorney General Schneiderman sent letters to four of the largest retailers of supplements in the country: Walmart, Walgreens, GNC, and Target, demanding them to immediately stop selling supplements that were falsely labelled, including echinacea, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, ginkgo biloba, and others.

What did Schneiderman’s office do?
Well, they conducted a scientific study, using DNA sequencing to test the ingredients in six types of herbal supplements, looking at different brands from multiple stores.
They tested each sample five times to ensure accuracy.
They collected 78 different samples and ran 390 tests in all.

Are we really this stupid? Really?
