Michigan Capitol Confidential - Posts:"The city of Detroit has added more than 1,000 full-time city employees over the past two years, according to its annual financial report.
The city had 6,294 employees in 2013, the year it filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy.
By 2016 city employment had fallen to 6,077, but it now reports having 7,081 employees as of 2018.
In 2017 Detroit’s population was approximately 673,104, down from 713,777 in 2013, according to US Census estimates."
