"The Coronavirus scare will go down in history as the first postmodern pandemic, revealing that the actions of postmodernist progressives are more directed toward the maintenance of the problem rather than solving it.
Why would they prolong the pain, one might ask?
Well, it's the same old reasons - it's power and relevance. 
The pandemic gives them both - during the pandemic, they get to exercise power without objection they normally wouldn't and by impoverishing the citizenry through economic shutdowns, they get to dole out money to prove they are relevant.
The reluctance of progressive Democrats to return the country to a normal, functioning status seems more directed at proving the problem was real than healing a nation from what history will record was the greatest self-inflicted economic wound a country could vest on itself.
