So, you want to work or volunteer at the voting precinct on election day!

Post: Edit
  • We most need "Poll Challengers" to observe the municipality absentee ballot counting for the May 4 election.

We will have at least 3 elections in MI 2021. May 4, Aug and Nov.

If you want to participate it's best to start now to determine what training is necessary.
The small May 4 election will require Election Inspectors and Poll Challengers in
  • Fruitport,
  • Ravenna,
  • Grand Haven school districts and the
  • White Lake area ambulance authority.
All are millage tax increases or renewals. No people will be elected, just millions to be spent.

There are 2 types of election day positions:
1. Election Inspector-Paid position-ALL DAY! (these are the election day poll workers)
Once officially trained, you can apply for consideration for the municipality and precinct, anywhere in MI. (there is more to this. Email or call me.)
Once training is completed, participants will receive a certificate which will qualify them to work any election in the state of Michigan for approx. 2 years.
For those interested in becoming a paid "Election Inspector":
  • My best advice is for you to contact me and I'll explain the process that applies to your interest. Email me at jambork@comcast.net and I'll get back to you promptly. Add "election" and your phone # to the subject of the email.
  • You can also contact your municipal clerk but each city/twp has different rules and opportunities. I can help you sort that out.
  • Training and certification is necessary. You can call your local clerk and/or county clerk and say "I'd like to be an election day poll worker/election Inspector. What do I need to do."
  • Clerks are accepting applications now. Don't wait!
2. Election Day Poll Challenger (Volunteer position-no pay.)
Contact Muskegon County Republican Party at PO Box 1742 Muskegon, MI 49440,

MuskegonCountyRepublicans@gmail.com or (231) 246-8143 to arrange free-online training that will allow you to receive official "Poll Challenger" credentials.

You pick hours and precinct location to volunteer on election day.
This position is for you to officially view election day proceedings and, if observed, report issues to officials.
