Here’s why NOAA Weather Radio hasn’t sounded alarms much this year
"...There are five National Weather Service offices that cover Michigan counties. 
Normally up to June 8, all of those offices combined would have issued 77 severe weather warnings in the form of severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings.
...So far this year there have been only 12 severe weather warnings, with all of those warnings coming as severe thunderstorm warnings.
