How ‘Diversity’ Turned Tyrannical
"...Massachusetts Institute of Technology was supposed to host Thursday’s John Carlson Lecture on climate.
MIT’s department of earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences canceled the event because the speaker turned out to have expressed a dissenting opinion—though not about climate science. 
University of Chicago geophysicist Dorian Abbot argued in a Newsweek piece that universities’ obsession with “diversity, equity and inclusion,” or DEI, “threatens to derail their primary mission: the production and dissemination of knowledge.” 
If MIT wanted to prove Mr. Abbot’s point, it could hardly have done better.
