"...a recent analysis related to people in Detroit and for communities where the providing of energy from utilities is a challenge for many to pay, some companies, including DTE, are leading the way towards a better day. 
It was recently reported that DTE “showed its charitable side by helping to buy laptops for Detroit Public school children and publicized that it would not disconnect the gas and electric service of people who could not pay their bills.”
...DTE has provided millions of dollars to The Heat And Warmth Fund and United Way for Southeast Michigan to help vulnerable Michigan families stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. 
In 2021, it connected customers to more than $119 million to help Michiganders pay their bills..."
