Federal Government Made $20 Billion in Secret Purchases in Recent Months

Federal Government Made $20 Billion in Secret Purchases in Recent Months | NBC4 Washington:
The federal government has spent at least $20 billion in taxpayer money this year on items and services that it is permitted to keep secret from the public, according to an investigation by the News4 I-Team.
The purchases, known among federal employees as “micropurchases,” are made by some of the thousands of agency employees who are issued taxpayer-funded purchase cards. The purchases, in most cases, remain confidential and are not publicly disclosed by the agencies. A sampling of those purchases, obtained by the I-Team via the Freedom of Information Act, reveals at least one agency used those cards to buy $30,000 in Starbucks Coffee drinks and products in one year without having to disclose or detail the purchases to the public.
A series of other recent purchases, reviewed by internal government auditors, include wasteful and inappropriate purchases by government employees -- including a gym membership and JC Penney clothing -- that were not detected or stopped until after the purchase was completed.
The I-Team’s findings have been the subject of a Congressional hearing and created scrutiny from taxpayer watchdogs for the Department of Homeland Security, which made the Starbucks purchases and declines to publicly detail them.
A “micropurchase” is a purchase costing less than $3,000 in which a government-issued purchase card is swiped. The U.S. Departments of State, Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, Transportation, and Defense, each made tens of millions of dollars of “micropurchases” in the past year, according to an I-Team review. But each agency said it does not make public an itemized list of its transactions, limiting the information to internal government reviewers and users of the federal Freedom of Information Act.

Obama's Border Policy Fueled Epidemic, Evidence Shows | The Daily Caller

Obama's Border Policy Fueled Epidemic, Evidence Shows | The Daily Caller:

"But there’s already more than enough statistical evidence for American citizens to demand that scientists test the viruses to see if Obama’s progressive border priorities spread the dangerous contagion throughout the country during 2014.

So far, that virus has been found in nine American kids who died from illness, has apparently inflicted unprecedented polio-like paralysis in roughly 50 kids, and has put hundreds of young American kids into hospital emergency wards and intensive care units throughout more than 40 states."

The Story Changes: Ebola Is Now ‘Aerostable’ And Can Remain On Surfaces For 50 Days

The Story Changes: Ebola Is Now ‘Aerostable’ And Can Remain On Surfaces For 50 Days | The Daily Sheeple:
When it comes to Ebola, the story that the government is telling us just keeps on changing.
At first, government officials were claiming that it was very difficult to spread the Ebola virus.
Some of them were even comparing it to HIV.
We were given the impression that we had to have “direct contact” with someone else’s body fluids in order to have any chance of catching the virus.
But of course that is not true at all.
Now authorities are admitting that Ebola is “aerostable”, that it can be “spread through droplets”, and that it can remain on surfaces for up to 50 days.
That is far different information than we have been getting up until this point.
So that means when they were so confidently declaring that they know exactly how Ebola spreads they were lying to us.
On October 24th, a 33 page document was released by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and in that document it is admitted that Ebola is “aerostable”.

Apple CEO and Chick-fil-A CEO sound exactly the same, so why is nobody freaking out?

Apple CEO and Chick-fil-A CEO sound exactly the same, so why is nobody freaking out? | Young Conservatives:
From the Weekly Standard:
Today, in an article for Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Apple CEO Tim Cook makes an announcement: “I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.”
Cook continues, writing:
“The company I am so fortunate to lead has … taken a strong stand in support of a workplace equality bill before Congress, just as we stood for marriage equality in our home state of California.”
While he “doesn’t consider himself an activist,” Cook has personally lobbied on gay rights issues in his home state of Alabama and at the United Nations.
All of this sounds familiar—haven’t we heard this story before?
A southern-born CEO invoking religion regarding his views on homosexuality, lobbying for what he believes in, and using his company to financially and publicly support those views?

"We have heard this story before.
The CEO of Chick-fil-A, S. Truett Cathy, does the EXACT same thing.
What happens?
Liberals try and boycott his business and demonize him publicly.
How do conservatives react to Apple CEO?
We don’t.
We go about with the rest of our lives and aren’t bothered by individual people who have individual rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution.
You know, like normal people.
The Mozilla CEO is another person who was demonized for his beliefs on gay marriage and ended up losing his job.
The left claims to be all about tolerance but we know they are only tolerant of people who think they exact same way they do."

"At What Point Does Revolution Take Place?"

Martin Armstrong: "At What Point Does Revolution Take Place?" | Zero Hedge
Reuters has published the result of what is being touted as the Ignorance Index.
The one question as an example:
“Guess how many U.S. girls aged 15-19 give birth each year. Go ahead, guess. If you calculated the number at 3 percent you’re correct; if you guessed 24 percent, you’re American.”
I rarely watch TV.
If I do, it tends to be national news – never local that think a burning house is news or some guy shot his wife in a domestic dispute. I was at dinner and the TV was on. I could not believe the TV advertisements for the elections. They are all NEGATIVE calling the other a liar or misrepresenting the facts on everything. One said the candidate cut the number of police, made the streets more dangerous and then shows a picture of ISIS and then said she raise taxes. Then the very next advertisement flips and calls the other a liar for something or another. There was ZERO advertisement about anything other than vote for me because I lie less that the other liar.
It seems that the Ignorant Index may be more tied to the bias and lack of integrity of the media. They focus on sensationalism to gain readership and in the process focus of one thing and create false images in the minds of the average person.
A classic issue is immigration and Muslims. Americans, according to the Ignorant Index, “significantly miss the mark on the proportion of the population that is comprised of immigrants, guessing 32 percent against the true number of 13 percent. Americans also overestimate the number of Muslims in the population, 15 percent versus only 1 percent in reality, and underestimate the number of Christians, 56 percent to 78 percent. ”
It seems as if the problem is not that Americans are ignorant, they are being fed nonsense by the media to sell newspaper and TV advertising.
....At what point does revolution take place?

It does not appear to be a percentage in our review of history, but the economic trend. In other words, turn the economy down and the percent of discontent rises exponentially.
So beware – not ghosts and goblins, but politicians 2015.75-2020.
So perhaps Americans will wise up only when the economy turns down and the Internet provides a greater proportion of real news compared to mainstream media. Indeed, the younger generation under 40 rely on the internet and those who subscribe to newspapers or watch the TV news are diminishing rapidly. This in itself will be a dynamic shift that restores freedom of the press and only then perhaps we will see Americans rise in the Ignorance Index.

Obama on Moms Who Stay Home to Raise Kids: 'That's Not a Choice We Want Americans to Make' | The Weekly Standard:
"During a speech in Rhode Island today, President Obama called for more taxpayer-spending on pre-school in order to "make sure that women are full and equal participants in our economy" and said the following:
Sometimes, someone, usually mom, leaves the workplace to stay home with the kids, which then leaves her earning a lower wage for the rest of her life as a result.
And that’s not a choice we want Americans to make.

HALLOWEEN 2014: Ebola suits, straitjackets and other costumes vetoed by PC police

HALLOWEEN 2014: Ebola suits, straitjackets and other costumes vetoed by PC police
Several universities have recently admonished their students not to wear a variety of costumes for Halloween that could potentially offend people, frighten people, or reinforce stereotypes.
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, for example, some students were warned against donning a Hannibal Lecter-inspired straightjacket costume because it’s offensive to people who struggle with a mental illness.
At the University of Southern Maine, two students wearing Ebola suits to a party prompted massive outrage, and even had the cops called on them.
And at Lehigh University, the entire Greek system has been warned not to host Halloween-themed parties on – or off – campus that could potentially upset any number of people.

Paying people for quarantines

Paying people for quarantines - The Washington Post:
The ongoing controversy over quarantine between those calling for quarantine and those who see it as violation of rights demands a compromise.
Quarantine is harsh, as people are deprived of their liberty for no fault of their own.
Aside from the inherent burden of confinement, those quarantined may also face financial losses from not being able to work.
Nonetheless, when faced with the risk of a destructive epidemic, quarantine is justified.
The potential costs to society in loss of life, panic and disruption can far exceed the individual costs of quarantine.
But that does not mean the burden should fall entirely on the unfortunate individuals subject to isolation.
A better policy would be to quarantine when necessary – but partially compensate those who bear the burden on behalf of society.
In other words, quarantined people should be paid.
New York State has apparently adopted this policy to a limited extent, but other states imposing quarantines have yet to follow suit.
