Can Insanity Succeed?

Can Insanity Succeed? | Power Line:
CAN INSANITY SUCCEED?
"...There is, of course, no constitutional crisis.
But the Democrats are going beyond the usual hyperbole.
Shockingly, their just-defeated vice-presidential nominee, Tim Kaine, is urging the party’s faithful to make like Brownshirts:
[A]s protests against Trump’s executive order continued in spots around the country, the recent Democratic vice-presidential candidate urged Americans to “fight in the streets” over the new president’s policies. “What we’ve got to do is fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets, fight online, fight at the ballot box,” Sen. Tim Kaine told MSNBC Tuesday.
I don’t believe any major American political figure has previously urged his followers to fight in the streets; not since the Civil War, certainly.
Things may be about to get even more dangerous for Americans who dare to show their support for our duly-elected president, and for our democracy.
It probably is true that the Dems have a strategy.
They certainly have message discipline, which is half-way to a strategy.
But as President Trump fulfills one campaign pledge after another, surprising only the most cynical, the Democrats, to a person, are reacting like toddlers denied a second helping of ice cream.
What they need is a good spanking.
At the polls, I mean. The Democratic Party has been in decline for a number of election cycles.
The verdict on the Democrats’ strategy of synchronized hysteria will be rendered in November 2018.
My guess is that after two years, most voters will have seen enough of the Democrats’ vileness.
Watch for the Democrats to slide nearer to irrelevance in 22 months."

End the Foreign-Aid Racket

Stephen Moore: End the Foreign-Aid Racket — The Patriot Post:
Image result for Foreign-Aid scam"Donald Trump’s wise and humanitarian move to reinstate the Reagan-era “Mexico City policy,” which prohibits U.S. foreign-aid dollars from going to non-government organizations that perform or provide referrals for abortions, has incited a torrent of liberal outrage.
...The restoration of the Mexico City policy is a great start, but Trump should take a much bolder step: Stop all non-emergency foreign aid now.
Virtually every poll of the last two decades shows that voters hate foreign aid, for good reason.
The programs don’t work to bring development to Nigeria or Mexico City anymore than domestic-aid programs have revived inner-city Detroit or Milwaukee.
Why are American taxpayers funding birth control or, for that matter, any overseas family-planning programs in foreign countries?
We can’t even afford our own government health programs, yet we are supposed to fund condom-distribution programs in Asia and Africa?..."

Teacher Forced Out for Using Confederate Flag in Civil War History Lesson

Teacher Forced Out for Using Confederate Flag in Civil War History Lesson:

"And, with the Confederate battle flag, Hart was teaching his class accurate history as to the use of the flag — in battles during the Civil War.

But the school district argued that it did not really matter how the flag was used during the Civil War; it should not be seen by students today. “We recognize that regardless of context, to many of our students, families, and staff, the Confederate flag is a racist symbol of hate. Although this matter is under investigation, it is important to reiterate: Any employee who is found to engage in behavior that creates an unsafe environment for students will face full consequences, including the possibility of initiating termination proceedings.”"

WHAT? No Punishment For Student Who Made “All White People Are Racist” Hoodies At U.

WHAT? No Punishment For Student Who Made “All White People Are Racist” Hoodies At U. Wisconsin-Madison – American Lookout:
"There is no doubt that America is headed in the wrong direction on a multitude of levels. The racism that has escalated during the Obama administration has far exceeded anything that America lived through in the 60’s.
The racial unrest on college campuses has sunk to new lows, as evidenced by this report from The College Fix:
A spokesman for the University of Wisconsin-Madison has shrugged off concerns over one of its students selling hoodies bearing the phrase “All White People Are Racist” in capital letters.
“In this case, the individuals involved are exercising their rights to free speech and engaging in a private activity unrelated to their status as students,” campus spokesman John Lucas said in an email to The College Fix.
Asked a second time to weigh in on the matter, Lucas gave the same answer.
The hoodies are the brainchild of an entrepreneurial UW-Madison undergraduate who recently began selling sweatshirts online—in Wisconsin red—which proclaim: “All White People Are Racist.”
Other sweatshirts offered by the same UW student vendor read, “If I Encounter Another Cop With A God Complex I’m Going To Have To Show The World That They Are Human,” modeled by a woman in a hijab and begging the question of how she proposes to prove police officers’ humanity.

LIBERTY REVIEW

LIBERTY REVIEW:

The Shifting Left

By Tammy Derouin

If nothing else, I guess we've got to hand it to the Left for their endless attempts to keep their causes on the front page, as if they were actually worthy of our attention. But then again, front page attention doesn't take much, having captured the press for their publicity and Hollywood for their song and dance routine, which sadly sells tickets to their shows.

There's a never ending supply of ridiculous tantrums over false stories. Their attempts to create a crisis where clearly none exists, is nothing short of fear mongering to advance their agenda. We have watched this tactic for eight long years. Thankfully, many more people have left the audience and have refused to purchase additional tickets. Eventually, the show will be canceled and not a season too soon.

The shifting Left never ceases to amaze. Their story lines would be quite comical if they kept their tall tales in the land of make believe. You can almost see a fumbling character as he tries to piece together information that doesn't make sense. What was once thought to be true, appears to have completely changed or so we are led to believe. The plot thickens and becomes funnier as the twists and turns become even more unbelievable. It's an endless comedic adventure. Some of the best comedies have their foundation clearly planted in misunderstandings.

Misunderstandings can be hilarious when they are confined within the walls of showbiz. We are intelligent enough to know the truth so we can laugh when something so simple gets twisted and turned into something completely unrecognizable. In the end, when all facts are known and the evidence is undeniable, there's a sigh of relief and even a little embarrassment that something so self-evident was lost to the depths of a runaway imagination.

Unfortunately, in today's reality, the lines between truth and fiction are an ever shifting blur.........

Report: Trump Halted $181B in Regulatory Costs on First Day in Office

Report: Trump Halted $181B in Regulatory Costs on First Day in Office:

"The Trump administration memo stopped the publication of new rules in the Federal Register, withdrew regulations that were sent for formal publication so they can be reviewed, and postponed recently finalized regulations for 60 days.

The American Action Forum found 206 rules that are subject to the administration memo, including five major rules that will likely be scaled back or withdrawn altogether.

One rule halted was the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Department of Transportation's plan to mandate all new cars, vans, and SUVs install technology that would share their speed and brake status information with nearby vehicles.

The Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications rule would have cost an estimated $108 billion. The regulation is in its beginning stages, with plans to finalize in 2019."

CRA: The "Regulatory Game Changer" That Could Wipe Out 8 Years Of Obama Regs In An Hour

CRA: The "Regulatory Game Changer" That Could Wipe Out 8 Years Of Obama Regs In An Hour | Zero Hedge:
"After a pompous, liberal agenda was crammed down the throats of the American people during his first two years in office, President Obama suffered staggering losses in Congress for the next six years that cost Democrats control of both houses.
But, heavy Democrat losses, courtesy of an electorate that vehemently rejected a far-left agenda, didn't stop Obama from continuing to push through countless new rules and regulations from the White House all while pushing his authority to the brink of every Constitutional boundary known to man.
Of course, the problem with "legislating from the White House" is that all those rules and regulations can be undone by the next administration.
Obama LegacyAnd, as Kimberley Strassel points out in a Wall Street Journal Opinion piece today, a little know tool within the Congressional Review Act could allow Republicans to wipe out 8 full years of Obama's liberal agenda, with a simple majority vote, all while preventing similar rules from every being recreated by future administrations.
Todd Gaziano on Wednesday stepped into a meeting of free-market attorneys, think tankers and Republican congressional staff to unveil a big idea. By the time he stepped out, he had reset Washington’s regulatory battle lines.

These days Mr. Gaziano is a senior fellow in constitutional law at the Pacific Legal Foundation. But in 1996 he was counsel to then-Republican Rep. David McIntosh. He was intimately involved in drafting and passing a bill Mr. McIntosh sponsored: the Congressional Review Act. No one knows the law better.

Everyone right now is talking about the CRA, which gives Congress the ability, with simple majorities, to overrule regulations from the executive branch. Republicans are eager to use the law, and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy this week unveiled the first five Obama rules that his chamber intends to nix....

...As Strassel points out: "The entire point of the CRA was to help legislators rein in administrations that ignored statutes and the will of Congress..."

TRUMP DESTROYED, DESTROYED, DESTROYED AND DESTROYED AGAIN

TRUMP DESTROYED, DESTROYED, DESTROYED AND DESTROYED AGAIN | Daily Telegraph:
"I went online yesterday to learn more about Donald Trump blocking arrivals from Islamic nations – only to discover something shocking.
The US president had been destroyed
Completely destroyed.
And not just once but repeatedly.
It was all there, as clear as day, in headline after headline:
“JK Rowling destroys Trump in one sentence.” – Raw Story, December 8 2015
“Sanders destroys Trump by 13 points.” – The Hill, December 22 2015

“Chuck Todd destroys Trump.” – UK Progressive, May 26 2016
June was a particularly active month for Trump, who was destroyed five times by Clinton and also faced destruction at the hands of two television commentators, a former New York City mayor and an Australian comedian, among others:
“Hillary Clinton Destroys Trump.” – C-Span, June 2 2016

“Keith Olbermann Destroys Trump Campaign With Single Tweet.” – Politicus USA, July 28 2016
In August and September, actors, TV hosts, Saturday Night Live comics, a trampy singer and a Cleveland grandmother all took their turns ritually grinding Trump’s corpse into an ever-finer bloody paste:
“Will Smith destroys Trump for misogyny.” – Hotpress.com, August 2, 2016
“MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Destroys Trump.” – Politicus USA, August 22 2016
“Cleveland grandma destroys Trump’s ‘bully mentality’.” – Raw Story, September 9 2016

“Kesha Stands Up for Former Miss Universe, Destroys Donald Trump.” – Fuse TV, September 29 2016
This welter of destruction only intensified during the month before last year’s election, with actors again prominent among Trump’s obliterators:
“Brutal Hillary Ad Destroys Trump on Out of Control Lies.” – Trofire.com, October 5 2016
“Ana Navarro Destroys Trump in Two Languages.” – Pajiba.com, October 7 2016

“Michelle Obama Destroys Trump in 5 minutes.” – YouTube, October 22 2016
“Small Business Owner Destroys Trump On Taxes And Business.” – New Hampshire Labor News, October 26 2016
Remarkably, despite by now being reduced to a few rogue strands of DNA, Donald J. Trump’s cellular remains somehow won November 8’s election. But the destruction just keeps going:
Saturday Night Live destroys Trump in one perfect sketch.” – Slate.com, November 13 2016
“Woman destroys Trump as rant goes viral.” – news.com.au, December 6 2016
“Obama Destroys Trump in Contest.” – New Century Times, December 28 2016
“The Internet destroys Trump for continually tweeting.” – Raw Story, December 28, 2016
“Irish rapper destroys Trump.” – YouTube, January 16 2017
Trump must be the most destroyed entity in global history.
Even Australia’s car industry is in better shape.
But there he was again on the weekend, impossibly signing executive orders and even speaking to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, presumably via ouija board.
Forget living in a post-truth world.
We’re living in a post-life world.
All hail Trump, the first ghost president.

EPA Meltdown: Reform Junk Science Agency Causes Freakout | National Review

EPA Meltdown: Reform Junk Science Agency Causes Freakout | National Review:

"It looks like the EPA will be the agency hardest hit by the Trump sledgehammer. For eight years, President Obama used the agency as his de facto enforcer of environmental policies he couldn’t pass in Congress even when it was controlled by his own party. If Obama was the climate-change bully, then the EPA was his toady, issuing one regulation after another aimed at imaginary polluters who were allegedly causing global warming. Jobs were lost, companies were bankrupted, and an untold amount of economic growth was stymied out of fear of reprisals from this rogue agency."

Amherst Student Expelled for Sexual Misconduct Can’t Defend Himself—It Would ‘Impose Psychological Trauma’ on Accuser

Amherst Student Expelled for Sexual Misconduct Can’t Defend Himself—It Would ‘Impose Psychological Trauma’ on Accuser - Hit & Run : Reason.com:
"Remember Amherst College student "John Doe," who was expelled for sexual misconduct, even though he had good reason to believe that his accuser had actually assaulted him
A judge recently blocked Doe's attempt to subpoena his female accuser's text messages on grounds that re-litigating the matter "would impose emotional and psychological trauma" on her.
Consider the implications of this decision
According to Seattle District Judge James Robart, a student who believes Amherst violated his due process rights, wrongfully expelled him, and ignored subsequent evidence that his accuser, "Sandra Jones," was the actual violator of the college's sexual misconduct policies, does not deserve the opportunity to make his case because someone else's feelings are more important.
Whatever happened to believing the victim?
The incident in question took place years ago, during the late night / early morning hours of February 4-5, 2012.
Jones was Doe's girlfriend's roommate at the time.
Jones went to Doe's dorm room and sexual activity ensued: Jones performed oral sex on Doe.
But Jones was blackout drunk at the time—a detail that Amherst administrators deemed "credible," on subsequent review.
Of course, it's questionable whether a blackout drunk student can actually provide the level of consent that Amherst's sexual misconduct policy requires.
Other factors cast doubt on the idea that Jones was the victim and Doe the perpetrator..."

Child Sex Offender Back on the Streets Shortly After Arrest Thanks to Bail Reform Law

Child Sex Offender Back on the Streets Shortly After Arrest Thanks to Bail Reform Law | Shore News Network:
LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP-Chief Richard Buzby issued the following statement regarding a suspected child sex offender who has been released back into the community thanks to New Jersey’s new bail reform law.
On Friday,  announced the arrest of Christopher Wilson, 20, of Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ, for 2nd degree Attempted Sexual Assault and 3rd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Police said Wilson offered a child a video game console in exchange for sex.
Wilson was arrested, but according to Ocean County law enforcement officials, despite agencies pleading their case to keep him incarcerated, Judge Wendel E. Daniels ordered his release.
“We attempted to appeal the decision and asked for a stay until the appeal process,” said Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Al DellaFave.
“It was denied and he was released by the judge, our hands are tied.”
Chief Buzby wrote:
For some time a sex offender who has targeted children in the past, has lived in this community in close proximity to many family residences, school bus stops and other points of interest to children.
Despite the best efforts of the county prosecutor’s office and this agency to the contrary, the current state of Megan’s Law is such that this particular community cannot be notified until the sex offender rating process is completed and a tier is established that will allow such a notification. A determination that would have allowed such notification was reached by the prosecutor’s office but that matter is under appeal and, once again, the notification must be delayed..."

The Intellectual Yet Idiot

The Intellectual Yet Idiot – INCERTO – Medium:
"What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us

But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligentsia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence hence fall into circularities — but their main skill is capacity to pass exams written by people like them.

Indeed one can see that these academico-bureaucrats who feel entitled to run our lives aren’t even rigorous, whether in medical statistics or policymaking.
They can’t tell science from scientism — in fact in their image-oriented minds scientism looks more scientific than real science.

Rasmussen: 57 Percent Support a Temporary Ban on Refugees From Terror-Exporting Countries - Breitbart:

"A strong majority of voters support a temporary ban on refugees from unstable and violent countries, Rasmussen Reports found.
Nearly two-thirds of voters want the U.S. government to halt refugee resettlement until better controls to screen foreigners can be implemented, according to Rasmussen:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57 percent of Likely U.S. Voters favor a temporary ban on refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen until the federal government approves its ability to screen out potential terrorists form coming here. Thirty-three percent are opposed, while 10 percent are undecided."

HYPOCRISY MUCH? Obama Halted Refugees For 6 Months in 2011- Liberals Were SILENT! - Silence is Consent:
"In 2011 Barack Obama banned Iraqi refugees for six months the far left said nothing.
Were there protests in the street?
Did you even hear about this fact?
The hypocrisy from the left is so thick you can cut it with a knife.
Then President Obama banned Iraqi refugees as a result of the discovery that Al-Qaeda terrorists were living as refugees in Kentucky.
The Obama administration blocked all Iraqi refugees from entering the US for six months.
There were no protests.
The news media didn’t even report on it.
This is another example of media selective outrage..."
