Aspen area woman again accused of ski theft – The Denver Post

Aspen area woman again accused of ski theft – The Denver Post:
"Apparently Jillian White really likes Blizzard Black Pearl skis.
The 61-year-old Woody Creek resident was arrested in January and charged with stealing a pair of the skis from a rack at the base of Aspen Mountain in December and attempting to sell them at a local used sports equipment store.

Then last week, White was charged with stealing another pair of the exact same women’s skis from a rack at Aspen Highlands in December as well as stealing a pair of goggles from a Highlands retail store, according to an affidavit filed Wednesday by Aspen police in Pitkin County Court.
White has been arrested six times in the past decade for stealing different items from Aspen businesses.
A year ago, she was sentenced to 21 days in jail and two years of probation for stealing a $4,100 pullover in 2013 from Bruno Cucinelli in downtown Aspen.
Police tracked her down for that crime after a Bruno Cucinelli employee followed White to her Porsche SUV and reported her license number to police.

Democrats Hoped to Hurt Trump, but Raised Suspicions of Obama - Breitbart

Democrats Hoped to Hurt Trump, but Raised Suspicions of Obama - Breitbart:

"The mainstream media have been doing a victory lap since the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National Security Agency (NSA) confirmed on Monday in testimony before the U.S. House Intelligence Committee that President Barack Obama did not wiretap Trump Tower. But that was already known.
There was only one new revelation at the hearing, and it was a bombshell: senior Obama administration officials could have known the identities of surveillance targets.

One of those targets, retired General Michael Flynn, "

WATCH: Ami Horowitz Destroys Democrats' Worship Of Socialism With Footage Of Venezuela | Daily Wire:

"The Venezuelan footage begins with Horowitz walking down a dangerous street accompanied by a native. When Horowitz asks why they are there, the native answers that he is hungry, and looking for anything he can eat, whether it is a dog, cat or pigeon.

Images follow of riots, fires out of control, and starving natives fighting each other for food. Horowitz visits a barrio, and speaking with the starving natives there, notes that people will stand in line for days just to get a can of milk so they don't starve. Horowitz points out that the natives are at risk of standing in lines for hours or days without getting food, as the lines are controlled by the government-approved mafia, called "The Collective." They bus in their people before the stores open and grab all the food before the starving natives can get any."

EMU police investigate business card 'advocating hate' found in library | MLive.com
"YPSILANTI, MI - The Eastern Michigan University Police Department is investigating the who might have left behind a business card "advocating hate and racism" found Monday, March 20, inside Bruce T. Halle Library.
The card displays the words "Alt-Right" on one side, with "America was 90% white in 1950. It is now 60%." followed by "Make America Great Again," and "Trump is the first step. We're the next."
There also are addresses to white nationalist websites provided at the bottom.
The card was quickly removed once discovered.
EMU President James Smith issued an email to faculty, staff and students on Monday, denouncing the card while assuring that the incident is a "high priority" for EMU police.
"I want to stress again, as I did last fall, that such attacks are hurtful to all of us in the campus community -- students, faculty and staff -- who work every day to make Eastern a welcoming and inclusive campus," Smith said in the email..."

More Evidence EPA Uses ‘Secret Science’ To Manipulate Politics

More Evidence EPA Uses ‘Secret Science’ To Manipulate Politics:

"The Environmental Protection Agency and other activists have long used “secret science”—another way of saying fake science or junk science—to justify job-killing regulations, legislation, and massive tax-dollar expenditures.

Even as they lobbied against the confirmation of their new boss, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, 15,000 unionized EPA scientists, regulators, policy wonks, and attorneys have been using unverifiable, unrepeatable “scientific” studies to undermine the rights of property owners, businesses, and employees. Just ask coal miners or farmers with ponds on their land just how much they appreciate being “protected” by the EPA."

San Jose Residents Suffer 'Heartbreak' After 'Failure' by Anti-Trump Mayor - Breitbart

San Jose Residents Suffer 'Heartbreak' After 'Failure' by Anti-Trump Mayor - Breitbart:
"San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, who infamously blamed Donald Trump for bloody anti-Trump riots in his city last June, is facing increasing criticism from residents affected by last month’s floods, which he admitted were a “failure” for the city.
Image result for government failureLiccardo, a Democrat, and his administration failed to warn local residents when Coyote Creek swelled.
One local resident tried to warn his neighbors before toxic waters — including fuel and sewage — inundated their neighborhood. In the end, many of the 14,000 locals who were forced to flee did not realize the threat until it was too late and they had to be rescued.
The San Jose Mercury News reports:
It’s been nearly one month since the catastrophic Coyote Creek flooding, but the repairs have just begun for most residents, who are left to grapple with mounting repair bills, unstable housing situations, severe health risks and an overwhelming resentment toward city and Santa Clara Valley Water District officials they felt could’ve done more..."

School Discipline Reform and Disorder: Evidence from New York City Public Schools, 2012-16 | Manhattan Institute

School Discipline Reform and Disorder: Evidence from New York City Public Schools, 2012-16 | Manhattan Institute:
"There has been a dramatic shift in school discipline policy, spurred by national statistics showing stark racial differences in school suspension rates and the assumption that bias was behind the differences.
...Advocates of discipline reform claim that a suspension may have negative effects on the student being disciplined.
Critics are concerned that lax discipline may lead to more disruptive behavior, disrupting classrooms and harming students who want to learn.
While school climate is impossible to measure in most districts, it can be measured in New York City, America’s largest school district, thanks to surveys that question students and teachers about learning conditions in their school.
Image result for public school problemsOver the last five years, two major discipline reforms have taken effect in New York: one at the beginning of the 2012–13 school year, under former mayor Michael Bloomberg; and one in the middle of the 2014–15 school year, under current mayor Bill de Blasio. Though the reforms resulted in similar reductions in total suspensions, Bloomberg’s reform prevented teachers from issuing suspensions for first-time, low-level offenses.
De Blasio’s reform required principals to seek permission from district administrators to suspend a student.
This report analyzes student and teacher surveys covering the five-year period of 2011–12 to 2015–16.
The key findings: school climate remained relatively steady under Bloomberg’s discipline reform, but deteriorated rapidly under de Blasio’s.
Specifically, teachers report less order and discipline, and students report less mutual respect among their peers, as well as more violence, drug and alcohol use, and gang activity.
There was also a significant differential racial impact: nonelementary schools where more than 90% of students were minorities experienced the worst shift in school climate under the de Blasio reform.

Trump's Budget a First Step Toward De-Politicizing Science | Mises Wire

Trump's Budget a First Step Toward De-Politicizing Science | Mises Wire
"The Trump administration has released its proposed 2018 budget, and within it are some things worth cheering.
Trump’s "America First budget" includes needed cuts to the regulatory state, defunds efforts to purchase more Federal land, eliminates funding for 19 minor government agencies, and makes significant cuts to a number of more significant ones — including the State Department, HUD, and Commerce.
Image result for government waste...the proposed cuts to the Energy Department, the EPA, and the National Institute of Health represent a significant step toward separating state and science.
...It is precisely because of its great importance that it should not be politicized by being influenced by politicians and government bureaucrats.
The inherent problems of government's inability to efficiently allocate scarce resources doesn't change when the subject is science, so government research can suffer with the same issues of waste, fraud, and abuse that regularly haunt other programs.
The National Institute of Health, one of the areas most impacted by the Trump budget, provides a number of examples of such questionable research.
As Senator Jeff Flake documented last year, the National Institute of Health dedicated millions to such pressing research as the impact of cocaine on bees, testing sex steroids on goldfish, and studying the appearance of Jesus on toast..."

Planned Parenthood Upset that Defunding It Would Result in Thousands More Births | American Center for Law and Justice

Planned Parenthood Upset that Defunding It Would Result in Thousands More Births | American Center for Law and Justice:

"Pro-life Members of Congress have put forward a new health care proposal – the American Health Care Act (“AHCA”) – the ObamaCare repeal reconciliation bill currently under consideration. A significant provision in the proposed bill (right on page 2) prohibits federal Medicaid funding from going to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood gets more than $527 million in federal funding, the vast majority of which comes through Medicaid reimbursements. Under the terms of this bill, Planned Parenthood would be prohibited from receiving those taxpayer dollars.

Notably, according to the CBO, in the first year in which Planned Parenthood would not receive Medicaid funding, “the number of births in the Medicaid program would increase by several thousand.”

Put another way: defunding Planned Parenthood could save “several thousand” babies."

Top Climate Alarm “Scientist”: Get Rid of Cars, Coal, Steel — or Its End of the World
"Professor Hans Joachim Schellnhuber (shown) wants to take us back to the Stone Age — literally.
In a March 15 interview with the German newspaper Deutsche Welle, the German physicist declared that global warming is so serious that not only must we all give up the use of coal and our internal combustion vehicles in the next 13 years, but we must also ditch concrete and steel — for “wood, clay and stone.”
Image result for climate alarmistIf we don’t do this, along with other drastic measures, we are headed toward planetary warming of “4, 5, 6 or even 12 degrees,” he claims. This would bring, he insists, “the end of the world as we know it.”
...Something disruptive?
Turn off the power?
Yes, the coercive utopians do not hesitate to impose hardship and sacrifice on others —while exempting themselves from the consequences of their actions.
Before you write this off as just another delusional rant from your garden variety greenie suffering from CDS (Climate Derangement Syndrome), consider this: Schellnhuber is a top climate alarmist for Germany, the United Nations, the European Union, and the Vatican.
He is one of the high priests of anthropogenic (human-caused) global warming (AGW) dogma and the co-author of the oppressive AGW regulatory regimes that have already caused such economic and social havoc in the EU..."
