I've fought sex trafficking as a DHS special agent – We need to build the wall for the children | Fox News:

Image result for flickr commons images Border WallAs a former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) special agent on the southern border who fought sex trafficking for over a decade, I can say with certainty that the issue of the border wall should be not about power and partisan politics. It should be about the children – the tens of thousands of them who have been and are being trafficked into the U.S. and forced into the commercial sex trade.
Human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise on the planet, with millions of child victims stuck in its clutches. Indeed, this is no peripheral issue – this alone should be front and center in our border and immigration debate.
I spent over 12 years working as a special agent/undercover operator for Homeland Security Investigations in the Child Crimes/Child Trafficking unit. For a decade of that service, I was stationed at the border office in Calexico, California. Based on my extensive experience fighting transnational crime along the southern border, I know that we should absolutely finish building the wall for the sake of the children.

• Chart: Escape from Venezuela | Statista
"...As our infographic shows, this has led to a huge increase in migration out of the country.
In 2015, there were almost 700,000 Venezuelans living in other countries.
Fast forward to July 2018 and this figure has risen to 2.3 million - representing 7 percent of the country's population.
These are only the official figures, too.
The actual number that have fled the country is thought to be much higher..."Infographic: Escape from Venezuela | Statista

  • "...Castro promises freedom of the press
Fidel Castro, in a 1959 speech on the progress of his revolution, announced that he was certain the new leader of Cuba would “decree the re-establishment of all rights and freedoms, including the absolute freedom of the press, of all individual rights.”
But the opposite happened.
Today, Freedom House’s ranking of press freedoms states that “Cuba has the most repressive media environment in the Americas. ... The Cuban news media are owned and controlled by the state and the independent press is considered illegal.”

Hannity on Stone arrest: 'We've lost our country. Say goodbye' - WND:

Image result for flickr commons images u.s. constitution“We are a democratic republic. The Constitution that we cherish so much is the foundation of all law and order in this country. If you don’t apply the laws equally, only going after one group of people because of their political views, and you protect people with other political views, you’ve lost our Constitution. We’ve lost our country,” said Hannity in an opinion piece compiled by FoxNews.com from his radio show.
“Without equal application of our laws and equal justice under the law, there’s one thing left to say to our great nation: Goodbye.”
Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan lied to Congress, Hannity pointed out.
Citing Obama administration scandals such as Fast and Furious, the IRS targeting conservatives and Hillary Clinton’s missing emails,” Hannity said, referring to the arrest and indictment of Stone, “it’s good to know the feds finally got their man.”

Electricity fiasco: we warned you!

Electricity fiasco: we warned you!
"Who benefits from electricity price spikes to $14,500/MWh, and who pays? Don’t let debates about climate change and renewables blind you to possible cases of vested interests being allowed to exploit the market and gouge the public.
The rolling electricity blackout in Melbourne that hit more than 200,000 households and businesses on 25 January is but one scene of the tragedy that is Australia’s energy policy.
The Citizens Electoral Council has repeatedly warned of such an outcome.
On 2 November 2016 we stated in a call for government intervention to keep Hazelwood Power Station open:
“Even Blind Freddy knows closing down a quarter of Victoria’s baseload power generation will result in job losses, rising electricity bills, and likely brownouts and blackouts during peak demand.
The only way to avoid such a disaster is to keep Hazelwood open until at least equivalent baseload power generation is online..."

Retired NYU Professor Explains Why College Students Prefer Socialism

Retired NYU Professor Explains Why College Students Prefer Socialism:
"Retired NYU professor Dr. Michael Rectenwald explained how educators are encouraging the spread of socialism throughout college campuses, on “Fox & Friends” Monday.
Retired NYU Professor Explains Why College Students Prefer Socialism“You had professors going over to the Soviet Union from America, going over to the Soviet Union, learning about the Soviet system of education.
And being convinced that they should bring it to the U.S. And re-engineer the entire education system after it,” he said.
“And this was a professor, particularly George Counts who came back, taught at Columbia teacher’s college.
And he’s teaching teachers who are going to then propagate the same ideology that he’s teaching them.
This is how it spreads.”
Rectenwald claimed almost half of all professors in academia identify as socialist and said nearly all of them are “leftist.”

US Quietly Plans To Make Asylum Seekers Wait In Mexico — Mexico Not So Sure | The Daily Caller:

Image result for Flicker Commons Images Exit SignA new Trump administration policy began Tuesday that would force asylum seekers coming from Mexico to wait in that country while their cases go through U.S. immigration courts.
On the first day of the policy, which currently applies only to San Diego’s San Ysidro border crossing, a 55-year-old Honduran man, Carlos Gomez, became the first asylum seeker to be returned to Mexico. Gomez reportedly asked to be taken to a migrant shelter in Tijuana.
The AP called the shift “one of the most dramatic changes to the U.S. immigration system of Donald Trump’s presidency.”

Muskegon County schools get good and bad news on poverty-minded report card | mlive.com
MUSKEGON, MI – Muskegon High School students are among the top 25 percent statewide academically when their economic status is taken into consideration.
Muskegon County high school's were ranked in the 2018 Michigan Public High School Context and Performance Report Card, which rates schools' performances on standardized tests while
controlling for the economic status of students. In this context, Muskegon High School was top-ranked in the county, but Muskegon Heights, which has the biggest economic disadvantage, was ranked at the bottom. That’s the good news for Muskegon County in a report issued this month that considers poverty rates when ranking high school test performances.
...Muskegon outperformed nearly three-quarters of schools throughout the state when economic status was considered in the 2018 Michigan Public High School Context and Performance (CAP) Report Card, which was released by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy this month.
CAP uses free lunch eligibility statistics and standardized test scores of 11th-graders to rank schools.
The study first derives an expectation of each school’s performance based on free lunch eligibility, and then compares test scores to that expectation to assign a CAP score, rank and letter grade..."

California Now Wants to Tax... Drinking Water | Intellectual Takeout

"California’s new governor has wasted little time continuing the state’s seemingly limitless expansion of government.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s first budget proposal, published last week, suggests instituting a tax on drinking water in the name of cleaning up California’s water systems.
The “Environmental Protection” section of the 2019-2020 budget seeks to:

  • establish a new special fund,
  • with a dedicated funding source from new water, fertilizer, and dairy fees,
  • to enable the State Water Resources Control Board to assist communities,
  • particularly disadvantaged communities,
  • in paying for the short-term and long-term costs of obtaining access to safe and affordable drinking water..."

Stuart Varney: How long are we going to tolerate the sliming of decent people? | Fox News
"I'm Stuart Varney and this is My Take.
See the source imageYou'd think they would learn: assassinating the character of a decent person, just because you disagree with their politics, will not turn out the way you hoped.
After their failure to prevent the elevation of Justice Brett Kavanagh to the Supreme Court, the left is now going after Neomi Rao, who is the Trump administration's nominee to the important D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
With Kavanagh, they went back to his high school yearbook, searching desperately for anything that would slime his teenage character.
With Rao, they've gone to her college writing!
BuzzFeed, which claims to be a journalistic enterprise, says she wrote "inflammatory op-eds in college."
Yikes!
...How long are we going to tolerate the sliming of decent people?"

In fact, the governor of Virginia thinks the law should go even further. He appeared on a local radio station this morning and advocated for killing babies after birth. Keep in mind: Governor Northam is supposed to be a moderate Democrat. We are apparently reaching the point where the moderate squishes of the Democrat Party endorse the summary execution of newborns. What will the radicals support? Carpet bombing daycare centers?

Mississippi Bill Would Let Cops Forfeit Cash And Cars - Without The Owner Going To Court
See the source image"Mississippi, along with 46 other states, allows law enforcement to use civil forfeiture to take possession and ownership of property, even if they never convict the owner or file criminal charges.
Thanks to its powers of confiscation, law enforcement in the Magnolia State has seized over $2.3 million worth of property over the past 18 months, including 54 vehicles, dozens of firearms, and several iPhones.
But a bill introduced last week would revive “administrative” forfeiture in Mississippi, a form of civil forfeiture that has even fewer safeguards for innocent property owners.
If enacted, property seized under the state’s Uniform Controlled Substances Law and valued at under $20,000 could be permanently confiscated without Mississippians ever getting their day in court..."
